Cherishing the spirit of '93 International Expo, whose theme "New Way for a Leap," the Expo Science Park was opened as a theme park, the first of its kind in Korea. This park is a mecca of national science education, a place that depicts international sciences, the future, as well as encourages cultural exchanges by upholding and improving the fruits of Expo. In the park, there are many popular pavilions, such as the Space Reconnaissance Flight Hall, the Technopia Hall, the Hanbit Tower, the Earth Hall, the Expo Memorial Hall, the Information and Communication Hall, the Electric Energy Hall, the Natural Life Hall, and the Energy Hall. Unlike the typical, boring exhibitions which conventional showfilms, the park pays more attention to offering better services to the visitors. In particular, the Hanbit Square, constructed May 1999 with the theme of youth, love, romance, and family in mind, is a place of interest to visit in the evening, its large-scale full-colored flowering section, its dynamic music fountain with special flame effects, and its splendid fireworks display on a site of 6,477 pyeong, giving an exotic atmosphere

In addition, the Ggumdori-dongsan inspires dreams and hopes in children, and a youth hostel offers rest to visitors.
Finally, the National Science Museum, a hall of science, technology, and culture which is the Korean version of Smithsonian Institute Museum, promotes national scientific life and helps youth to understand science technology, and thereby, leading them to become people of ideas.
