Subject : ‘Three Colors of the Suwon Art Gallery'
An arts exhibition where you can experience major genres of art
including photographs, Korean paintings and sculptures is open at the
Suwon Arts Exhibition Center located in the Manseok Park in Jangan-
gu. The exhibition is free of charge, providing a picnic opportunity
for families before the onset of winter, as well as an opportunity
for youths to foster their inner sensitivity through the arts. In the
1st Exhibition Room, a Korea-China-Japan Northeast Asia photograph
exchange exhibition is taking place, held by the Suwon sector of the
Photo Artists Society of Korea(district head: Oh Young-gil). The
photo exchange exhibition is part of a 8 year tradition, where the
Photo Artists Society of Korea exchanges photographs with the photo
artists societies of Jinan City in China and Asahikawa of Japan, both
sister cities of Suwon. The exhibition is held every year, the
location rotated among the three countries. A terra-cotta exhibition
is being held in the 2nd Exhibition Room, where the warmth of the
earth can be felt. Terra-cotta is widely used as a material for
sculptures. It is very long in tradition, and the exhibition gives us
an opportunity to feel the humanity and warmth coming from the earth.
Suwon's only meeting of sculptors, 'Earth,' is displaying 30 pieces
created by the nine members of the group. In the 3rd Exhibition Room,
The Galmae Korean Painting Club is holding its 9th regular
exhibition, displaying the natural scent of indian ink. The Galmae
Club, which is learning Korean painting under the instruction of
Korean painter and Gangnam University Lifelong Education Center
Professor Kim Gwang-heon, is displaying pieces by 10 of its members.
The display is comprised of indian ink wash drawings, sketches and
other forms of drawings. The warm feeling of the indian ink adds to
the delight of both the eyes and the heart.
