Everyday except Monday the Royal Guards Changing Ceremony is presented around the Deoksugung Palace, and Changdeokgung Palace comparable to the Buckingham Palace ceremony in London. The royal guards, called 'Geumgun (Restricted Area Army)', under the command of the chief gatekeeper were in charge of defending the king's residence. The complete process during the Joseon Dynasty included the opening and closing ceremony of the main gate, military parades, marching ceremonies, etc. However, the present exhibition offers a combined reenactment.
When all the official ceremonies come to an end, actors in the guise of the Royal Guards pose for photographs with spectators.
