Photographic exhibition 'Around the world in 80 days and memories in Seoul'
The Green Fund and the Sejong Center for Performing Arts is holding an outdoor photographic exhibition 'Around the world in 80 days and memories of Seoul' in front of the Sejong Center for Performing Arts from May 1st to July 15th.
In the exhibition, 80 pictures of the cities and landscapes of the world taken by National Geographic and Magnum, a prestigious co-op photo-agency created in 1947, will be on display. The pictures in the exhibition portray how the man-made city coexists with the natural environment.
In addition, 32 pictures by the photographer Im In-shik(1920~1998), the war photographer who took aerial photographs of the landscapes of Seoul in the 1950s, will be exhibited for the first time. Rare photographs of the traditional Korean houses in Gahoe-dong and the grass-roofed houses in Gangnam, Banpo which resemble the quiet countryside will also be displayed.
The Green Fund organized the exhibition to promote that environmental issues are closely related to the everyday lives of people.
The Green Fund will also hold additional events such as digital photography contests and face painting.
