The Itaewon Alley Festival

The owners and operators of the Alley area, djcj.org and the Itaewon Special Tourism Zone Association have joined together to present the first Itaewon Alley Festival, this Buddha's birthday, Wednesday 26 May.
While the Itaewon area is renowned as the Korean international melting pot, it's usually known for it's night time activities. To change this and to encourage more family interaction The Itaewon Alley Festival presents an afternoon of fun, sounds and festivities.
The festivities are aimed at presenting a peaceful, community oriented perspective to the people of Seoul while highlighting some the best 'fine dining' to be had on the peninsula. Festivities lined up range from the physical ('Test Your Ball Skills' with the Seoul Survivors), massage (Thai or aroma oil) and face painting. With three performance zones spread over the area local bands and dj's (check www.djcj.org for the days music schedule) will be presenting their artwork side-by-side with international foods and a raffle of gift vouchers valid at the different establishments.
The raffle will be drawn at 4.30pm on the day, with prizes including two dinners for two at Geckos Garden bar, four gift vouchers for Le Saint Ex, two bar tabs at 3 Alley Pub, introductory yoga classes, and numerous other food and drink vouchers to be won.
The Itaewon Alley Festival, will be held during the day and participants are encouraged to move inside at night All of the participating establishments want to raise the level of awareness of the Alley in order to allow Seoulites to savor what has become the premier entertainment hub of Korea.
