A reenactment of King Yeongjo's 50th birthday banquet based on historical records will be held at Myeongjeongjeon, Changgeonggung Palace. In 1743, King Yeongjo of the Joseon dynasty held a large-scale banquet on his 50th birthday to relieve political instability and to strengthen the royal authority.
At the reenacted banquet, the King's subjects will serve the King food and drinks. In addition, various traditional palace music and dance will be performed as well.
About 270 people will take part in the ceremony which will be performed four times in June and July (June 13, 20, 27, July 4) and eight times in September and October.
