Subject : 261 films from 32 countries will be presented at P
The 8th Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival (PiFan 2004), to be held from July 15 through 24, will introduce even more diverse cutting-edge films and special programs than ever. Having 72 films added to the last year’s screenings, PiFan 2004 presents 261 films from 32 countries (Feature: 83, Shorts: 178). King of the Ants directed by Stuart GORDON is the Opening Film, and Bunshinsaba directed by AHN Byung-ki is the Closing.

PiFan 2004 films will be presented in 6 sections: Puchon Choice, World Fantastic Cinema, Fantastic Short Films, Family Section, Korean Cinema Retrospective and Special Programs. Special Programs are as followings: Pioneers of Japanese Animation: From Tekobo to Momotaro, Welcome to Tromaville!: 30 Years of Reel Independence, Corpse Fucking Art: The Films of Jörg Buttgereit, and The Shaw Brothers Retrospective II: An Ode to the Twilight. Besides, ‘Film as a Subversive Art: Amos Vogel and Cinema 16’ will be presented as Special Screening. An Empty Dream directed by YU Hyun-mok will be screened in ‘Korean Cinema Retrospective: A Creative Restoration of An Empty Dream.’

PiFan 2004 presents 9 World Premieres, 21 International Premieres, and 64 Asian Premieres.
