Subject : Traditional Music & Dance Classes for Foreigners
The National Center for Korean Traditional Performing Arts (NCKTPA) offers traditional Korean music & dance classes for foreigners living in Korea to help them better understand the beauty of traditional Korean culture.

The program starts on Sep. 11 and will be held every Saturday for two hours(10:00 am-12:00 pm) until Nov. 27. On the last day, participants will present what they have learned and watch congratulatory performances presented by the performers of NCKTPA. NCKTPA offers six courses on traditional Korean music & dance.

The program will be conducted in both English and Korean by the performers affiliated with the center. The center will provide the musical instruments and other materials necessary for the lesson except for Danso and dance shoes.

*Period : Sep. 11-Nov. 27, Every Saturday
*Time : 10:00-12:00am
*Venue : Umyeon-dang(small theater) and Training center in NCKTPA
*Participation fee : 30,000 (payment should be made to the manager on the first day of class)
*Language : Korean, English
*Classes and number of participants:

- Danso (bamboo flute) - 20
- Mask Dance - 10
- Minyo (folk song) - 10
- Gayageum (12 stringed zither) - 20
- Janggu (hourglass shaped drum) - 20
- Samullori (percussion ensemble)** - 20
**Samullori class is for those who have taken janggu classes before or those with basic janggu skill.

To sign up for the classes, fill out the application form in the NCKTPA website and submit it by e-mail(eric@ncktpa.go.kr) or fax(580-3055) no later than Sep. 8. Applicants will be participating in the opening ceremony on the first day at Umyeon-dang(small theater) at 10am on Sep. 11.
