The 7th Seoul Fringe Festival will be held for 17 days from August 20 to September 5 at theaters, galleries, and live clubs of the Hongdae(Hongik University) area. Korean independent artists' organizations and young artists from five Asian countries will participate in the independent art festival. The Festival consists of five sections - Music festival, Visual Arts Festival, Asian Independent Film Festival, Performing Arts Festival, and Street Festival. In addition to the main events, various side events and seminars will be held as well.
Music Festival
Performances by Korean independent musicians and bands will be held every Friday to Sunday during the festival period at Hongdae clubs such as Slugger, Queen, and Jammers.
Visual Arts Festival
The Visual Arts Festival features creative and experimental works of young artists. This year, the Visual Arts Festival will be held jointly with eight galleries in the Hongdae area.
Asian Independent Film Festival
Asian films could gain world-wide success because diverse independent films had been produced. The Asian Independent Film Festival provides a chance to see the trend of Asian independent films. The festival features short films and documentaries by three promising young directors of Korea, Japan, and Taiwan.
Performing Arts Festival
The Performing Arts Festival features various genres such as play, dance, and mime. In this year's festival, around 30 performances will be featured by artists from Korea, Singapore, Hongkong and Japan.
Street Festival
The Street Festival features various performances, exhibitions and parties every day during the festival period.
