Busan Jagalchi Festival is Korea’s largest seafood festival held in October every year at Jagalchi Market, one of Busan’s most famous places, and at Nampo-dong located in the central Busan. The festival features diverse things to see, reenacting traditional fishing folk culture such as Yongwangje (sea king ritual), and manseonje (a ritual praying for a good catch), as well as various seafoodrelated hands-on experience programs where visitors can participate and enjoy. It also offers free cruise tour where people can view the spectacular seascape around Taejongdae and Songdo Island and fish market where fresh raw fish slices and other seafood can be purchased at discounted prices. Visitors also can have an easy access to the festival, as its venues are conveniently located in the heart of the city.

Main Events
Reenactment of traditional rites (fishing ritual and manseonje praying for a good catch), gilnori (percussion performance), quiz on finding out exact weight and names of raw fish slices, cooking contest for foreigners, Jagalchi Aunties beauty contest, surprise seafood auction
