The RESFEST Digital Film Festival was first held under the title 'The Low Resolution Film Festival' at a small art gallery in San Francisco and attracted around 100 audiences. Afterwards, as many digital artists approved the spirit of the festival and took part, the Low Resolution Film Festival developed into a film festival featuring digital films of the world and changed its name into 'The RESFEST Digital Film Festival' in 1998.
The RESFEST Digital Film Festival has developed into an international touring film festival held both on-line and off-line in cities around the world. The tour takes off in cities in the U.S - New York, Boston and San Francisco - and extends to cities such as London, Toronto, Bristol, Singapore, Seoul, Tokyo and Osaka.
Unlike other film festivals which devote a single section to digital films, RESFEST exclusively features digital screenings of digital films.
In addition to digital films, RESFEST features seminars and workshops on digital visuals, exhibits digital artworks, and holds parties and a rock concert.
