Seoul Independent Film Festival(SIFF) is an annual event that showcases independent films made that year. It owes its genesis to the 1975 Korean Youth Film Festival, Golden Crown Short Film Festival and Korean Independent Short Film Festival.
Seoul Independent Film Festival is an event representing independent film as well as the Seoul area itself.
SIFF is a competition film festival and covers all sorts of genres, from documentary, experimental film, animation and fiction film. SIFF however does not acknowledge boundaries between genres and awards films according to whether they are short films, medium-length films or feature films. The Festival is held by Korean Film Council and the Association Korean Independetn Film & Video, and through a sponsorship by CJ-CGV invites unique foreign independent films for the edification of the public.
