Located in the heart of the peninsula, Chungju, the birthplace of "Jungwon Culture" is leaping forward as the leading city of culture and tourism in century of culture.
The city, which has become known locally and internationally as the home of martial arts resulting from the first three World Martial Arts Festivals, is actively preparing for The 5th Chungju W·M·A·F from September.30th to October.6th at the city gymnasium and other local venues.
The event, whose motto is "Encounter of 5000 Year of Korean Spirit with Martial Artists from Around the World" will establish the city as the center of world martial arts with the city's unique martial art "Taekgyeon," which is registered as Korean National Intangible Cultural Asset #76.
The 5th Chungju W·M·A·F in the fall will provide various opportunities to enjoy and experience both local and foreign martial arts all in one location.
